Clear Pathways to Safe, Supportive Placements.

How Our Child Referral Process Works

We understand that finding the right environment for a child or young person is a deeply important—and often emotional—decision. Our referral process is designed to be transparent, collaborative, and focused on the unique needs of every child we support.

Step 1: Get in Touch

Start with a conversation.

Reach out to our dedicated admissions team via phone or email for an informal, confidential discussion. This initial conversation gives us a chance to learn about the young person, understand their immediate needs, and answer any initial questions you might have about our settings, care philosophy, and availability.

Step 2: Understanding Their Needs

Building a complete picture.

Once an initial enquiry is made, we gather and review all relevant documentation—including care plans, health records, educational histories, and risk assessments. We take the time to read between the lines, looking beyond paperwork to truly understand the young person’s strengths, preferences, challenges, and aspirations.

Step 3: Ensuring the Right Fit

Creating a safe and harmonious environment.

Our experienced management team conducts a comprehensive Matching & Impact Assessment. We carefully evaluate whether our home, support staff, and peer group are the right fit for the child, while ensuring the safety and stability of the young people already in our care. We only accept a placement when we are confident we can deliver outstanding, tailored support.

Step 4: Swift & Decisive Communication

Reassurance when time matters.

We recognize that delays cause unnecessary stress for families and professionals alike. Once we have received all necessary documentation, our team works quickly to deliver a definitive placement decision within 24 hours, giving you clarity and certainty as soon as possible.

Step 5: A Gentle, Personalised Transition

Supporting every step of the journey.

Every child moves at their own pace. We collaborate closely with social workers, families, and advocate teams to craft a bespoke transition plan. This can include virtual tours, introductory visits, photo books, and gradual move-in schedules to help the young person feel safe, heard, and welcomed.

Emergency Placements: When urgent care is required, our team is equipped to review and facilitate safe, immediate placements without sacrificing our rigorous standards for child welfare.
